This chapter serves as a conclusion to the course Globalization: Past and Future. Professor Sachs talks about the need for a shared global vision on ethical values. Part of this task is to design new institutions and ways to cooperate and learn. We must also develop the will to cooperate and work across political, linguistic, cultural and religious divides. Sachs mentions the Laudato Si’ of Pope Francis and the key moral principle of the Roman Catholic faith called the Universal Destination of Goods. Professor Sachs also introduces the work of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network and the SDG Academy, and closes with the words of President John F. Kennedy on global cooperation.
