Introducing SDG 11: Sustainable cities and communities

SDG 11 is entitled Sustainable cities and communities. Half of humanity currently lives in cities. The amount of city dwellers is expected to continue to grow, both in absolute numbers and in relation to those living in other locations, such as in the countryside. This urbanisation phenomenon entails particular challenges with regard to sustainable development.
