Data and technology have a powerful role for increasing equity and reducing disparities. A whole-system approach is needed to ensure horizontal collaboration across sectors and vertical collaboration across levels. The quality of remote learning can be greatly enhanced by data and technology, especially by the flourishing EdTech ecosystem. Assistive technologies can support learners with different physical, mental and social disabilities and impairments, as well as support learners that have specific needs such as adapting to another language.
Learning credentials have important as we turn to online learning courses, trainings and programmes, and recognition through micro credentials, learning passports and credit banks can open up a wealth of opportunities to disadvantaged and vulnerable learners.
