Multilateral development institutions have been engaging with Islamic finance through a broad range of activities, including financing, Sukuk, technical assistance and research. There are examples from a range of development institutions such as the African Development Bank (AfDB), the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Asian Infrastructure and Investment Bank (AIIB), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the European Investment Bank (EIB), the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group (WBG).
