This lecture presents key factors that influence rainfall and water recycling in the Amazon. This includes the contribution of water vapor from the Atlantic Ocean, the role of evapotranspiration from trees, the transport of sediment from the Andes to the lowlands, and the diverse characteristics of different kinds of rivers, such as whitewater and blackwater.
