The biosphere is a thin layer around the Earth that hosts life. In the 1980s, ecological economics tried to reconnect land to economics through the creation of natural capital, the green economy, and ecosystem services. We should strive for is a model that looks at the economy as part of society and society as part of the planet. In the Anthropocene, humanity is an interconnected species of 7.5 billion people moving through the Great Acceleration on the Earth, but we must make sure that our actions are connected to the planet that we live on. We must transform our pathways and reconnect to the biosphere; challenges arise, especially in urban areas. An example from an art science book called Reflection on People is used.
