Natural Resource Funds

In this chapter, Perrine Toledano discusses natural resource funds and sovereign wealth funds. If these funds are well-designed and governed, they can help countries to escape the resource curse and the Dutch disease, but if ill-designed, they can contribute to the mismanagement of the extractive industry revenues and become a slash fund, and examples of both are given. Six criteria must be met in order to have good governance of Natural Resource Funds, and these steps are gone over in detail.
