Green Bonds and Green Bond Principles

Green bonds are innovative climate finance instruments designed to raise funds for sustainable investment projects. Unlike conventional bonds, all proceeds of a green bond need to be invested in projects that produce positive environmental impact. The principles by which whether a bond can be qualified as green are determined through the International Capital Market Association’s Green Bond Principles and the Climate Bond Initiative’s Climate Bonds Standards.
