Gender

This chapter examines the inequality between men and women, boys and girls, around the world. An inequality that afflicts virtually every society that is antiquated, that is being overcome, but in which historic legacies, and cultural patterns, and simply bad behavior persist to leave women with lower incomes, to leave many women to be victims of violence, and to leave many girls outside of school and without the chances for the kind of life that they want and that they deserve.
