In this chapter, Professor Sachs discusses equity, fairness, and justice in the design of climate policies, which is part of overall social fairness. He outlines four basic elements that are the key pillars of fairness in climate policy. We each have the right to a safe climate system, and must follow the polluter pays principle to make good for damage done, and examples are given of this historically.
